Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Tammy and I am a married mother of four. I also have been blessed with two amazing grandsons. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life and I am on a journey to improve my own health and fitness. Read more about my transformation story on my blog. I am a registered nurse working in a small community hospital and I am an entrepreneur. I love teaching and I love seeing people make positive changes.
My story is one of SLOWWWW progress, but progress nonetheless. I started putting on weight as a teen but most of my weight came as a leftover “gift” after each one of my 4 pregnancies. Over the years I have tried many diets. Most of them worked in the short term, but like for many people I ended up gaining the weight back and then some. I never made permanent changes and I felt like I couldn’t maintain the calorie restrictions that those diets required. A couple of years ago after much praying and studying I realized that what I really wanted was to be fit, not necessarily skinny. Yes, I still do want to lose weight but it is no longer my main focus. My main focus is now fitness (hence the name Craving Fitness). To me that means that I want to be active, I want to lose fat (not just weight), I want to build muscle, and I want to learn how to properly fuel my body.
In the midst of this journey I found that I LOVE encouraging other people to do the same. I have learned so much and some days when I am able to impart a bit of hope to someone in their struggle, I feel like I am living in the sweet spot of life. My progress is slow but I believe each milestone for me is worth every minute of the effort it took to get there. I believe that these changes are permanent and I am done with yo yo diets.
